Short description :

The objective of the project is to investigate the potential of the leguminous fodder crop Sainfoin for cultivation in Organic Agriculture. For that purpose field trials with different varieties have been carried out since 2004 on different site and soil conditions. Apart from agronomic aspects such as yield, the fodder value as well as the profitability of organic sainfoin production will be analysed. Results will be published in a grower's manual on Sainfoin production.
