Our range of analyses comprises:

• Continous-Flow-Analyses(Nmin, Fe2+,Fe3+,P, K+, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+) of soil and plant
• Soil-pH determination
• Conductivity measurements
• Determination of dry matter and ash content
• ELOS (Enzymatic soluability of clover grass)
• Sugar content and puffer capacity of clover grass
• Seed determination on pathogens
• Development of new analytical methods

Education and training of 2-3 agro-technical assistants and chemical assistants per year.

Our lab consists of 3 sections:

• Section 1 - coarse sample preparation: pure water facility, CHN-analyser, spectrophotometer, titration facility, microwave pulping
• Section 2 - balance room: precision balances, exsiccator
• Section 3 - lab for fine analysis: continuous-flow-analysis, AAS, sterile working bench, photometer, high security chemical storage, storage for solvents, alkalines and acids.

First sample preparation for soil and plant samples usually takes place at the experimental farm Wiesengut . Only soil extracts and/or dry and ground samples are being processed in the 1990 established laboratory in Bonn-Poppelsdorf near the institute.
